2019’s FilmedByBike documentaries, Local LA Bike Companies, Demos, Ride Groups, Speakers at Boomtown Brewery in DTLA’s Arts District on Sunday, January 27, 2019

When: Sunday, January 27, 2019: 2-9pm
Where: Boomtown Brewery, 700 Jackson St, Los Angeles, CA 90012

What better way to start the new year than with a party designed to help people connect to new friends, resources and ways to get riding (or to ride even more) in 2019? Los Angeles has some of the best bike rides in the world – from MTB local trails, coastal road routes, a Velodrome that hosts US Nationals and an active urban ride culture – there’s a lot of great reasons to love all forms of biking in LA.

But – there’s also a lot to be terrified of. The secret is to find the people, events and resources that let you connect to all the good stuff, avoid the bummer stuff, while making new friends, checking out cool new gear or learning a new skill – like bike touring! Advance online tickets are only $12 and include 1 free raffle ticket. One Ticket gets you into 2 screenings, panel, raffle, exhibitor space w/demos!

2-4pm come visit awesome exhibitors like: Topanga Creek Outpost/Rogue Journeymen, Roadrunner Bags, The Bike Center, Hi-Powered Cycles, Montenegro Manufacturing (MMFG), Bicycle Coffee LA and REI. Exhibitors (and bike demos!) will also be set up in-between screenings (5pm-6:30pm)

Noon-9pm: enjoy Boomtown Brewery’s craft beer and giant games: corn hole, darts & table tennis.
Screening #1 ‘Bike Love’ – 4:00pm (1hr)
Screening #2 ‘Adventure Shorts’ – 6:30pm (1hr)
Raffle: 7:40pm
Panel Presentation (Speakers TBA): 7:45pm

Connecting people + bicycles through fun + educational experiences!

Mission Statement:
Bicycle Culture Institute is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on education, helping to develop a positive American bicycle culture and solving any barrier to riding bikes.

We help create life changing experiences: helping to get people riding bikes instead of driving, teaching girls how to confidently ride MTB without boys around. Our #FilmedByBikeLA screenings bring together all styles of riding together to enjoy craft beer, rad new documentary films and a Q & A panel with local adventure experts.

BCI was founded in 2013 based on years of innovative cycling culture projects including: event development, community organizing, public relations and traditional advocacy. We believe in making friends, learning from other cities (and individuals) around the globe to build connections between people.
